Gravely Group was founded in 2018 by Steve Gravely. After more than 30 years in Big Law, Steve decided he wanted to do things a bit differently… Gravely Group operates virtually (and was doing so pre-COVID) and leverages technology in an effort to provide smarter, more efficient, and more affordable legal services to clients in the digital health sphere.
Steve Gravely is principal author of the Data Use and Reciprocal Support Agreement (DURSA), a first-of-its-kind legal framework to support nationwide health information interoperability, and he is nationally recognized as a provider of strategic counsel to cutting-edge initiatives in the digital health space.
Steve’s unique perspective on healthcare originates from his experience as a firefighter and EMS provider during college. Today, Steve serves as a volunteer member of the National Ski Patrol, responding to accidents on the mountains. First responders must be calm, skilled, and able to use whatever resources are available to overcome immediate challenges- and it’s this “first responder” mentality that Steve brings to his work representing healthcare organizations on complex legal and strategy issues.
Jon Gravely serves as Gravely Group’s Public Health Consultant. Jon lends a unique lens to issues as both a public health and epidemiology expert and as a former medic at a Level 1 trauma center. Jon is a member of the Army National Guard, and possesses global experience, having volunteered, worked, and studied across the globe.
Jon obtained his B.A. in Political Science from Norwich University and his MPH in Epidemiology from the University Arkansas Medical Sciences. His work has taken him from the Office of the Governor, Secretary of Public Safety to various roles within the VCU Health System where he studied vaccine efforts and partnered with various public health officials to increase vaccines during Covid. As a consultant with Gravely Group, Jon advises on a variety of strategies to create economically feasibly public health policies and evaluate the impact of various public health initiatives.
